Massage therapy is the manipulation of the muscles and joints of the body to gain a therapeutic response. A variety of different techniques are used including Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, remedial exercises and stretching. It is a partnership in which the therapist helps the client to understand the process behind their pain. Together they work to alleviate the problem.
Massage enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and promotes a sense of well-being. It can be an important part in a regular healthcare maintenance program. In our fast-paced, hectic society, massage is highly effective in relieving emotional and physical stress or fatigue.
